A Chalk is to a Chalkboard, what a Pen is to …….?

If you have ever wondered to yourself whether or not you have a ‘gifted’ child on your hands, you may have google searched Child’s IQ Test.

This is what me and the Mr. did a few days back. After chatting about the kids over dinner, we agreed that we’re extremely lucky that we have such lovely, funny and clever children.  Eva, especially is extremely smart.  She gets on well at school, has no problems with her work, is very mature for her age and her spelling and her reading are AMAZING.

“She’s probably the cleverest child in her class” we told ourselves.

(But we’re her parents, so maybe a little biased.  Do you think? :-) )

Well, apparently, we found out that if you have a 5-year-old who can fill in the answer to:

A chalk is to a chalkboard what a pen is to……….

You may have a ‘gifted’ child.  So, immediately we asked Eva.  She thought for a second and replied ‘paper’.  Excellent!  Although, she is nearly 7 – so….. maybe she’s not on a ‘gifted’ level but she’s definitely officially bright.

We then called Olivia – who is 5 and asked her the same question.

She looked perplexed.  She didn’t understand the question, bless her.  After about 5 attempts of her shouting out random answers (which included: Chalk? A pen? Crayons? Errrrmmm, hopscotch?) We concluded that we probably shouldn’t sign them up for Mensa just yet.

Still, at least they’re pretty.

that’s a joke by the way
